Wortal PSZ (Public Employment Services)

The Public Employment Services Wortal is an information service where the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, as well as district and provincial labor offices, publish key information for the unemployed, job seekers and employers. As part of all contracts provided for this project, our support will cover a total of 374 units at the county (PUP), provincial (WUP and UW) and national levels (KG OHP and MRPiPS), which manage public and internal websites and use mail within the praca.gov.pl domain.

  1. External sites (388 sites, about 4,000 editors) on one system
  2. PES Central Site
  3. EURES – Polish Network of European Job Opportunities
  4. Site of sPSZ – Network of European Public Employment Services – POLAND
  5. Websites of District and Provincial Labor Offices
  6. Project Web Sites

  8. PES mail (more than 9,000 accounts)

What was the client’s business need?

The project is both maintenance and development. The client required the creation of a separate EURES (European Employment Services – EURES Polish Network of European Job Opportunities) site on the new Liferay 7.3 platform. Due to the maintenance-focused nature of the project, the EURES site was implemented as a separate installation, which was a significant and specific component of the project.

What was the challenge?

Our task was to upgrade the operating systems without changing the CMS and significantly improve performance. The pandemic caused increased use of the system, particularly in terms of downloading forms necessary to provide assistance, which in turn caused performance issues. We had to effectively solve these problems and optimise the system’s operation to meet the growing demand from users during a difficult time.

We quickly tackled the challenge by involving teams of several people who worked intensively on optimization. We had to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the system to improve its performance. We were able to achieve this while ensuring the system’s compliance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

What did we deliver?

While executing the first contract, we implemented the sites in PUP (District Labor Office) and WUP (Provincial Labor Office) units. The implementation process included 3-day on-site training sessions and group consultations. The project also included 4 years of support to ensure the long-term effectiveness and stability of the implemented solutions.

What did the client get?

The project concerned the unification of the image of the PES (Public Employment Service), which includes previously implemented sites in the PUP and WUP units.

Now all sites are consistent and compatible with each other. We have introduced global content that can be edited and propagated by the homepage editor to the sites of individual offices, which has made it much easier to manage shared content.
