What was the client’s business need?
The project is both maintenance and development. The client required the creation of a separate EURES (European Employment Services – EURES Polish Network of European Job Opportunities) site on the new Liferay 7.3 platform. Due to the maintenance-focused nature of the project, the EURES site was implemented as a separate installation, which was a significant and specific component of the project.
What was the challenge?
Our task was to upgrade the operating systems without changing the CMS and significantly improve performance. The pandemic caused increased use of the system, particularly in terms of downloading forms necessary to provide assistance, which in turn caused performance issues. We had to effectively solve these problems and optimise the system’s operation to meet the growing demand from users during a difficult time.
We quickly tackled the challenge by involving teams of several people who worked intensively on optimization. We had to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the system to improve its performance. We were able to achieve this while ensuring the system’s compliance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
