The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy administers matters related to Poland’s labor and social policies.
What was the business need?
The client’s main business need was to provide career counselors at county employment offices with a tool to help them learn about the competencies of job candidates in order to make the best possible selection.
Career counselor systems can include a variety of tools and methods, such as interest tests, one-on-one interviews with a counselor, presentations on various occupations and industries, and access to a database of training and employer information.

What was the challenge?
The SDZ system was created from scratch. We spent much time analyzing and adapting the project to the client’s requirements. SDZ integrates with other systems that other contractors maintain. Because of this, we had to find a common approach to communication, task delegation, and system operation.
The biggest challenge was the multitude of data and information we had to implement into the system:
- Implementation of advanced psychological testing algorithms,
- Dynamic creation of documents containing tailored developmental guidance for the examinee.
In addition, a major challenge was to adapt the system for high accessibility for people with disabilities according to WCAG 2.1 standards.
How did we do it?
SDZ consists of two components:
- Competency Testing Tool (NBK) – tests professional competencies. The user receives a report with the results of the study within each competence, as well as recommendations for development activities.
- Questionnaire of Professional Interests (KZZ) – is used to study professional interests and determine users’ professional preferences.
Key functionalities of SDZ:
– Managing user accounts, assigning permissions and lists of user accounts
– Advisor input of responses entered by clients during paper surveys
– Generating reports or statistical summaries
– Integration with the Central User and Node Database, operating within the Broker SI PSZ communication bus
– Integration with the Central Application, dictionaries and central parameters contained in the Central Dictionaries module of the SI PSZ Broker, and enabling data retrieval from the SRP (PESEL) system.
