MYPLATESPACE – know what you eat!

Cooperation with a UK based start-up Cluiid, makers of MyPlate Space, ‘field to fork’ platform for the food industry. An all purpose global application for food producers, food outlets and food consumers.

Client:

Industry:

What was the business need?

The world is changing. The way people eat is changing. The food laws are changing. Now it’s time for the food industry to change.

The problem is, that the food industry does not always provide enough information about allergens for customers. MYPLATESPACE was created to make the flow of this information faster, easier and more reliable .

People are becoming increasingly interested in healthy food, organic products and veganism. They demand transparency in the ingredients used, and they want to eat by lifestyle choice, diet, religious beliefs, and sustainability choices. They just want to know what’s on their plate.

What was the challenge?

To revolutionize, modernize, and change food industry for the better. MYPLATESPACE had to serve as a product DNA reader, marketing tool for businessess, data flow between producers, food service operators (e.g. restaurants), and customers.

The main challenge was to expand the technology we wanted to use and create an app for 3 types of users: Food Service Supplier (local, regional and national), Food Service Operators (Restaurants, Ghost Kitchens, Care Sector, Hospitals, Schools) and Consumers.

How did we do it?

The solution enhances all aspects of food provenance and technical information about the product that go to the end user. As the users eats something, they can immediately check what they are eating.

Thanks to this application every restaurant can give its customers access to a detailed list of ingredients and allergens of all dishes. Additionally, the kitchen (chefs and waiters) has real- time access to the orders placed in the restaurant, and each customer can add a comment with their food allergy requirements.

In the application it is also possible to check the availability of products in the area – thanks to this the manager can precisely plan their purchases.

Key functionalities: Serverless Architecture SaaS, Product management, Recipes & dishes generator, Label crafter for manufacturers to help product marketing, Menu builder for restaurants, Recipe and inventory control, QR codes sharing, Business continuity, Track live product availability, Access customer order information in real-time, AI allergen recognition

Our process and workflow:

At Softiq we work via the Scrum methodology. For most projects we will approach in an agile way, based on sprints. This method allows for self-organization of the team and thus increasing its efficiency and reducing the time of delivery of the finished product, which is very important for both us and the client.
The implementation of the project in phases:

  1. Brainstorming, planning
  2. Figma mockups, creating user stories, determining app core functionalities
  3. Analysis and setup of the AWS (we are serverless, the app starts working the moment you
    start using it)
