The Ministry of Family and Social Policy manages matters related to labour and social laws of Poland.
What was the business need?
EURES provides services to job seekers and employers within the framework of the free movement of people and the promotion of labor mobility within the EU.
This solution helps in:
- finding jobs,
- providing information on living and working conditions in member countries,
- finding accommodation at the workplace,
- adapting to a new working and living environment,
- going to another member state for work,
- recruiting workers from another EU or EFTA member state.

What was the challenge?
The previous version of the EURES site used Joomla technology, which was not suitable for the client at this point. Ministry of Family and Social Policy decided to move the EURES portal under a larger WORTAL projects that were written in Liferay 6.3 (an older version), so we decided to move thenew EURES to the latest Liferay 7.3 version.
There is a big difference between 6.3 and 7.3, so our team had to do much training to move smoothly with the implementation. During the project, our developers earned Liferay certifications and are now qualified specialists in this technology.
How did we do it?
More than 300 people use EURES from the level of advisors and organizations.
At the very beginning, we agreed that we would move EURES in a 1:1 form to what was in the older version, but over time, we found that refreshing the design and adapting the site to WCAG 2.1. requirements, improving the mobile version of the application, and implementing a dark mode would work much better.
We also had to take functional changes into account. When the EURES system moved to the WORTAL, all users logged in through the Data Bus, the central BROKER system.
