What was the business need?
Employment of Foreigners – application where applications for employment of foreigners are registered and permits/refusals issued. Integration with the portal praca.gov.pl, where employers apply for work for a foreigner and arrival in a given country.
The application, developed and maintained by the previous contractor, was more than 10 years old and, at that point, outdated, inefficient and difficult to maintain. Updating it would be labor-intensive and generate high costs.
Therefore, the need arose to create a new version of it, more efficient, with a more modern and user-friendly interface, while adding new functionalities that the old application lacked, and which significantly affected the convenience of its users.
How did we do it?
When creating a new application, we decided to change the technologies we have used so far (Java, Oracle, JBoss) to PHP/Laravel, PostgreSQL, AngularJS, Apache.
We built an application consisting of:
- REST API being the backend part of the application
- SPA using AngularJS
- Integration module with BROKER PSZ in order to:
– User authentication
– Integration with praca.gov.pl (submission of electronic applications)
– Integration with many other external systems in order to retrieve or verify data (ZUS, KRUS,
GIP, etc.)
