What was the business need?
We started our work on the project by carrying out some major modifications to an existing system, maintained and developed by another supplier. ZUS had a major challenge ahead of it – preparing and launching the handling of electronic sick leave for citizens and doctors across the country. As a matter of urgency, we started work to stabilise the system and prepare it for a significant increase in the number of documents processed.

What was the challenge?
The project was a major undertaking and the biggest challenge was to quickly analyse improvement and stabilisation of the system and to prepare it for the heavy workload. The biggest challenge was to quickly analyse, improve and stabilise the system and prepare it for the heavy workload following the introduction of mandatory electronic sick leave.
We were responsible for performance testing, stabilisation and optimisation of the system with regard to the issuing of electronic sick leave and the removal of almost 200 reported bugs that were not handled by the previous contractor, often for many months or even years.
What was the solution?
For several months, we worked on stabilising and optimising the system, eliminating bugs and implementing improvements. Each fix was subjected to functional and performance testing, allowing us to identify bottlenecks.
We used Dynatrace for diagnostics, facilitating performance analysis and problem detection.
We involved experts from various IT areas – database, integration, testing and optimisation. Thanks to their experience, we successfully implemented new functionalities and improved the PUE ZUS system.
