What was the business need?
Software to support the permitting of abnormal vehicles (hereinafter: PPN/software/system/application) is designed to assist the Head Office and branches of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in issuing permits for non-normative vehicles based on submitted applications.

Main functions of the system
- Handling applications for abnormal vehicle permits.
- Automatic calculation of journey parameters, including intermodal transport.
- Production of operational and statistical reports.
- Streamlining workflows (e.g. transfer of applications, renumbering).

What was the challenge?
The application code was written in a non-standard and unintuitive way, which made it very difficult to analyse and develop.
What was the solution?
Work process and methodology: The project was implemented in the Waterfall methodology
over a period of 5 months, which allowed for systematic implementation of changes and
testing of new functionalities.
