What was the business need?
The client’s biggest need was to adapt the platform to the implemented EU directive, which directed EU countries to transfer documents in structured and electronic form.
The PEF project in the European Union is based on the Open Peppol standard, which makes it possible to exchange documents from EU countries and those from outside the union (such as the US).

What was the challenge?
We had to get acquainted with the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system.
The schedule was another big challenge. There was not much time to complete the entire project, less than 9 months to implement a working platform – we had to produce 3 systems/modules – a web application, an API for external systems, and a desktop application, available on Windows, Linux and macOS.
What was the solution?
PEF is a platform that supports the procurement process and includes 6 services
- Purchase order
- Delivery advice
- Receipt
- Invoice
- Correction invoice
- Accounting note
Registration in the system is done through a web application without unnecessary paperwork. Basic data on the subject is required for registration. Confirmation of identity is done with the help of the ePuap trusted profile – later more users can be added as needed, e.g., through integrated systems via API. Data between platforms is synchronized.
